Question:

about copper?

What is the difference between "L" and "M" type copper piping?

Answer:

there are three grades of copper that pertain to plumbing depending on thickness from thinnest to thickest they are m l k L is thicker and better than M
L type is the kind used in houses m is kind used in small applications like in air conditioners and other appliances
type l copper is used for central ac in your home, it comes in coils. type m copper is used for water piping in your home and comes in 10 to 20 ft lenghts. l is soft, m is ridgid.
Copper tubing labeled L is going to be softer and will hold less pressure than a M grade copper which has more nickle alloys thus making it stiffer and will hold more pressure that's required in appliance applications.
