I recently installed a cold air intake in my car and there is a whistle sometimes when accelerating. Is there a way to fix this or is it not broken?
I would check with Cold A.I. manufacturer. I believe that its possible that the whistle can be coming from the turbo charger (if equipped ) . That's why the design of car manufacturer has proper silencers on vehicle. More harm to vehicle may result in longer run with any NON O.E.M. add on. My 2c.
This is a normal noise, you're hearing the air being sucked straight from the fender (or engine bay, depending on your brand of CAI) Instead of being sucked into the stock air cleaner system, which has the plastic housing which eliminates that noise.
