Question:

Air suspension? Tire has went flat from weight of car?

(Town Car 97) I went to drive my car this morning but I seen that the back tire went flat. I lifted the car and took off the tire and seen that it was smushed by the weight of the car and that the actual rotar was closer to the ground making it so that even when I raised the car the tire didn‘t come off the ground. Can this mean the air bag suspension completely went out?

Answer:

Tires go flat from a shortage of air pressure. It has nothing to do with your air suspension. The tire has the same amount of weight to support regardless of the functionality of your cars suspension. You are supposed to turn the air suspension off by the way before you jack up the car or you will break it.
it means you need to learn how to jack your car up using the axle so there is enough clearence to fix a spare tirie. on the end of the axle so everthing wants to line up correctly.
if you jack the car by the frame the suspension expands and lets the tire down. you need to jack up the car from under the axle. the suspension stays compressed. or buy a floor jack, not the compact jack that comes with cars now days. they have a lot more swing.
