Question:

AirForce or Navy Seabee?? Need your Advice/ Opinion! I'm only 17!?

I wanna be a vehicle mechanicWhich branch would be cooler and help me get a good career as a Vehicle Mechanic in the civilian world?Navy: CM, Construction Mechanic(Part of Seabees)They work on all kinds of vehicles both gas/diesel engines.Buses, dump trucks, bulldozers, rollers, cranes, backhoes, Pile drivers and other heavy equipment and vehicles.Air Force: General Purpose Vehicle Maintenance Apprentice.Work on sedans, pick up trucks, vans, buses, cargo trucks, tractors and trailers.Which would be better to be a good, well trained vehicle mechanic in the civilian world?P.S.I am hoping SeabeesThey seem way coolerAnd they don't get on shipsVery RareThey deploy for 6 monthsTen months they are on-base training.

Answer:

It is more likely to have destroy the chipThis is not repairableAnd the heat rquired to refloat it will be much higher than a hairdryer can manage, and a hairdryer is a common source of static discharge, warm air blowing over a mix of conductors and insulators can cause very high static build up Refloating requires a constant temperature high enough to melt solder, but not high enough to damage components.
I just revived my old pc's 9600 GT with the hair dryer (normal type, Philips brand) blowing at the GPU chip itself after removing the cooler / fanNot sure how long it will work, I have got an used 550 ti just in case.
If the GPU has burned out, my friend, it doesn't matter what you do with it, it's not going to work.
As a retired Navy Vet, I will of course tell you to go NavyI was going to go Airforce when I joined many years ago but they were always telling me what they were not going to be able to do for me after allI got tired of that and went NavyThe Seabees are a proud group that have a very long and famous Navy historyThink about it, after you get out and serve your time, what would you want to put on you resume? General Purpose Maintenance Apprentice (Airforce) or Seabees and list what they schooled you inI know who I would hireGo Navy!
