use 220 grit sand paper to get the lose edges of the clear coat that is already coming off this will also can be used to remove the existing oxidation then you can hit it with some 1500 grit sand paper to make it smooth again you then can use polishing compound to get the shine back again , after that you wash them off with soap and water and dry them real good then you clear coat themonce clear coat is dry you wet sand them w/ 2000 grit ,wax then buff.
