Answer:

What kind of phone do you have? If it's an android you could run Skype over wifi, but you would of course then need to pay like 8 bucks for calling, and then I think another 10 a month to get a dedicated Skype number. I know you said you didn't want to switch to another provider but check out Republic Wireless. They are only like $19 a month and run off of Sprint's network like Virgin does. Only difference is that their phones automatically route calls and texts over wifi when you're connected! Hardest part would be getting in, 'cause they're essentially in beta still if that makes sense. Good luck!
I used to mess around with some copper wire in this on an old Nokia You want to make sure the copper wire doesn't move around too much, this would cause interference that would cause loss of signal, some sticky tape might help you out here Also, hold your phone about 2cm away from your face, and grab the phone by the bottom, as the antenna is located at the top of the phone, and you want to reduce as much interference from the human body as you can, hands free headsets are great for this because you don't have to worry this so much You just need to experiment here, I hope I have helped you out
Tomatoes and dark green leafy vegetables.
go out to the middle of a field and put your hand up with your cell phone as high as you can. (it usually works)
