In the rural area where I graduated High School, one of the state troopers responded to a rural accident where a car went under a tractor trailer and all four girls where amputatedHe ended up leaving the force since it was his daughter and three friends, no survivorsI think that it happens more in rural areas where there is more a volunteer force and people know each other betterI can feel for your lost, it is not easy seeing a loved one die.
