k so i have this AP ceramics class that i need a focus for, for my portfolio. does anyone have any sugestions.im trying to do something that people dont do a lot.
Check the glove box for the proper pressure, if not there check you owners manual if not there, check the drivers side door frame for the pressure.
Find a obscure regional or cultural style you like and put your own spin on it. Every native american tribe had unique pottery as well as almost every other initial non nomadic cultures.
Hard to find something that people don't do a lot in clay. In what are you interested? Have you tried making plaster molds? Multiples (think 250 bananas, cubes, whatever) give some interesting avenues for different concepts. I would work on the idea first, the manifestations of the idea second. Do you want to do groups of things that go together? Are you thinking about sculpture, functional work, something in between? I would start by thinking of a word (like gravity) you would like to illustrate. How can you show gravity? Fallen balloons? Broken pots/scuptures beside a leaning shelf? Sagging breasts? Good luck.
