are area rugs and door mats machine washable?
I would not trust the shaggy ones in the washer at all. I've lost a few that way. Regular plush ones and woven ones should be ok, but definitely check. I would not put them in the dryer at all- let them dry outside if possible.
Some area rugs are machine washable, some are not, check the labels. Door mast are usually machine washable but make sure that you vacuum them first because excess of dirt and/or sand might damage the washer. Also, use the delicate cycle because the spin on the regular cycle plus the weight of the mat will be too strong and your washer might get damage.
