Are balanced XLR connectors stereo or mono?

I have a DI box and I'm not sure if the XLR on it is stereo or mono.

There are several other types of connectors that would work very well for your needs, and would be much cheaper than XLRs. A visit to an electronic parts store is in order.

If your XLR connector has 3 pins it is mono - if it has 5 pins it is stereo
