Are earl additives just a waste of money ?

Answer:

wow! what kind of a man are you? well, try to do some activities which are not related to fire. It's hard to forget the things you love. Forgetting it may hurt you. For me, the best thing to do is play with water. Maybe the counterpart of fire will help you.
I like Fire, too. Not to the extent where I want to burn my whole house down and cook myself and my family to a crisp, though. Maybe you should see a Psychologist.
I don't know about earl additives But, Yes. Oil additives are a waste of money. Most only add a higher vicosity to your oil, nothing more. And on top of that, with a higher viscosity your going to use more fuel because now your engine is going to have to work harder to move it's parts through the heaver oil.
Slick 50 is a proven additive. I lost a oil pump and drove 25 miles down slow windy roads in the mountains without ANY damage to my engine. IT WORKS Just make sure its in a broken in engine or it will never break in correctly, usually add a quart at 50k and every 50-100k for max results. Engine runs cooler due to less friction . Never add to ricerockets or motorcycles that share oil with the transmission/clutch or it will cause the clutch to slip badly. Harleys and Indians are ok though
Changing the oil is the cheapest maintenance to do on a car. As with your other question, I would recommend an oil with additives for higher millage, if your car is in that category. I had an old Chevelle ('71) with almost 200,000 miles on it, and the engine didn't use 1 quart in 1000 miles. But I changed the oil as recommended, and the filter every time. What oil did I use? Whatever was on sale, but it was grade sf at that time. If your engine is burning oil, then it is probably worn out, so changes won't do as much as additives would.
