Are herkeimer diamonds real diamonds or worthless Quartz?
If you can scratch the surface of the lamp with a piece of steel, it's ordinary glass. If you can instead scratch the steel with the glass, it's quartz glass. Quartz glass is very expensive, so it's most likely ordinary glass.
