Are horse blankets necessary in southern states during the winter?
the attic needs to breath Many times those are put up in the winter to save heat Take them off
if your attattic just got insation in they put blue styrofoam in it look like egg box foam that thinit let the air go to the roof vents and wouldn,t let thing dlocked it off all new home have vent track in them to keep air flow so your roof will last longerif you take them out out make sure you can see down to your eave vents then it will be ok that way
Yes remove whatever is blocking the airflowIf your house is well insalated you shouldnt have to worry about blocking these offYour attic needs fresh airI would even suggest that you have someone install vent fans on a temperature controlThe vents will stay closed in the winter and summer until the attic reaches a certain temp and then the fans will kick on and the vents will open until the temperature dropsGood luck.
Depends on the horse, how far south, how cold it's getting, etc If you're clipping in the winterABSOLUTELYDepending on the temperatures, a mid-weight blanket might work out perfectlyIf it's getting particularly wet/cold, something heavier might be necessary If you're nothe'd probably be just fineIn the sleet, however, I'd suggest an un-insulated waterproof sheet, though, to keep the worst of the wet away from his coathis fluff will insulate him plenty, but if he's out 24/7 or in the sleet, he might appreciate the extra coverage.
