Are IR and UV rays considered light rays?

I keep hearing people say IR light or UV light, but if they are outside of the human visible spectrum, are they still considered light rays? What is the real definition of light? Where does light begin and end in the EM spectrum. Are radio waves, then, also considered light? Just light that we cannot see? What about X-Rays?

Answer:

Light is electromagnetic radiation. Visible light/radiation is roughly between the wavelengths of 400 and 700 nm. So, yeah, radio waves, x-rays, ultraviolet, gamma rays, microwaves, infrared radiation are all forms of light, just not visible light.
Light colloquially would just refer to the visible spectrum but scientifically it refers to all electromagnetic waves, from gamma waves to radio waves. They are all the same phenomenon, just at a spread of frequencies and wavelengths.

Yes they are light rays. Just because the human eye can't see them does not effect the fact that they are light. Light rays are a type of electromagnetic energy. in the range of 4000 (violet) to 7700 (red) in the EM Spectrum Radio waves are not a type of light. X rays are part of the electromagnetic spectrum and are a type of light but beyond our visual perception.
