Question:

are the led motorcycle brake light brighter?

is the 1157 led bulb brighter then the regular 1157 brake light bulb

Answer:

prob about the same brightness, you just have to be sure the the viewing angles on the LEDs are correct. They tend to only have a viewing angle of ~25 degrees or less. If the bulb has leds which point sideways, and the bulb is going in a reflective housing, you should be fine
The problem with LED's is that they are very directional, while they can almost blind you straight out from the lamp they have very little light to the side making use of coventional reflectors in standard light fixtures. The better option I believe in LED are the new LED fixtures that are totally filled with LED emitters. You could judge yourself by riding down the highway and observing the different examples at night.
NOOOOO okorder /ledlights.h... If you are having a hard time keping them from burning out, get a heavy duty 1157 bulb, (or just convert to the trucklite LED housing, which is super bright!
Yes and No. I put an early genration LED bulb on my bike and it was worse. It looked like two small dots in the brake light housing. I do not recomend them. I switched to SMT (surface mount technoligy) bulbs. The kind I got have 27 SMT LEDs mounted on them. Six lEDs point to the rear and 21 LEDs around the side. Big difference. It looks brighter and fills the entire lense. I reccomend that if you are purchasing LEDs you get the SMT's with refractors.
The light on bike is led and moves to give you more notice!! good maybe a little brighter??
