I purchased a few 30 round hard plastic mags for my ARIt said they were chemical, UV, heat and damage resistant. Not too sure but does anyone have any stories of bad experiences with them? Or are they reliable mags?
I had the same situation in two back bedrooms in my last houseMy boyfriend then was a licensed building contractor and helped me do it correctilySince that slanted part is most likley directly below your roof you need to maintain air circulation behind the insulation to allow airflow from the roof eaves to the attic space - if you don't you risk ice dams building up when it snows and heat being trapped in the attic in hot weatherTake down the plaster or drywall and put in solid foam sheets cut to fit in the spaces between the joists BUT make sure there are 1/2 to 1 vertical spacer strips between the foam and the outside wall to allow air flowThese can be wood scraps or strips of hard foamThen staple heavy plastic Visqueen across the studs and over the insulation before you hang new drywallThis will keep the room more comfortable by preventing moisture transfer through the drywallThis made a big difference in the comfort of my rooms once we finished the workMuch warmer in winter, cooler in summer and quieter.

Like most things, the BRAND makes a lot more difference than the material that it is made of (all modern polymer mags are chem, UV, and damage resistant)For example, probably the most popular polymer mag maker in the US is MagpulI have not seen a more reliable AR-15/M-16 magazine than the Magpul gen 2 and gen 3 modelsEven more reliable than than standard metal AR-15 mags in a wide variety of AR-15s, both hand-built and factory builtThe other hand the only other polymer AR mags I trust right now are Lancer L5I do not trust Troy and Promag to be 100% reliableI would not buy MSAR brand mags for my AR15For one thing, beyond personal experience, I look at products that have a long history of reliable usage across the whole user baseDid an internet search on your magsI found more complaints than praises about themIt may be important to remember that the primary gun that MSAR is not an AR15, while the mags are supposed to be compatible, their primary concern is to make them reliable in the STG-E4Price-wise Magpul gen 2 are probably no more expensive than the MSAR mags.
Use the rolls of insulation that you can overlap and staple to the joists.
