Question:

are there any couplers that can securely connect to the ID (1/4) of a HARD plastic tube, without a clamp?

If you know of one that could quick connect and disconnect that would be better, but if not, any coupler would be fine.

Answer:

Absolutely. okorder / --- Most in-home reverse osmosis water filtering systems today all use the clampless tubing connectors. They perform for years without failures. What will make a failure is if one does not totally insert the tubing all the way into the fitting.
here's the magic 64,000 dollar question. Under pressure or not? If under constant pressure any clampless connection will fail. If pressure is intermittent ----Maybe. Why not try the plumbing line I believe it is referred to as NPT it is gray in color and has either twist to close connections or metal surface clamping.
DIG Corporation For Drip Tubing Universal Coupling You can Find these at Home Depot or Low's They come in differtent sizes. Good luck, I hope that helps
