Are vitamins and pills still effective if you use a pill crusher?

I have a really hard time swallowing pills, so I'm going to go out and buy a pill crusher. Will this make the vitamin less effective or make it harder to quot;absorbquot;?

no, i use a pill crusher. infact sometimes i put the crushed stuff in hot chocolate!
