Ceramic tiles shed water better than almost anything else. So, they don't allow many types of mold to grow. However, as the link indicates, black mold can grow almost anywhere, and it is difficult to get rid of it.
Generally speaking, items that attract magnets have iron in them. In this day and age, that usually mean steel, which is basically iron with carbon in it (stainless steel, which is steel with chromium in it, may or may not be magnetic). Iron or steel wool is also a good source. Perhaps an even better source is good ol' dirt (certainly cheaper). Get a magnet (even one of those toy horseshoe magnets), and drag it around in the dirt. You will usually find a huge amount of iron powder, tiny pebbles, etc. This iron comes from fertilizers, construction, and even meteoric dust.
