Question:

Automatic Transmissions ?

can alcohol temporarily fix a transmission

Answer:

I fixed leaks in the transmission of my 94 Voyager using Valvoline treatment (Lucas and Castrol didn't work). It also fixed the slipping problem.
Not likely. What type of problem are you having? I've been a mechanic for 30 years and never heard of using alcohol in a transmission.
I agree with Iknowthisone, I don't know much about automatics but most need some pressure in the system in order to upshift, alcohol is not going to build pressure since the viscosity is low compared to ATF and alcohol provides minimal, if any, lubrication.
