I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla which the Toyota dealership claims has damage caused by jumping the car incorrectly. They say the car was damaged due to reversed polarity. I took the car to the local Autozone to have a free electrical system check before taking it to the Toyota dealership. Is it possible that the Autozone tech caused the damage by incorrectly testing the electrical system? Thanks for your help.
mroe likely then not you just need a new battery. check al the fuses and relays as well.
By reversing th polarity, the stereo would probably smoke up and the ecu could have been damaged.
If the polarity was reversed when you jumped the car, you would have seen sparks everywhere and possibly had the battery explode.
With Toyota's if the polarity is reversed it will blow the 100 amp fuse and usually the 15 amp EFI. These protect the more expensive components. I have personally seen the polarity reversed briefly with no sparks, smoke or battery explosion. Jumper cables are hooked up every day with no battery explosions, but there is always the possibilty. I have never seen anything else cause the 100 amp fuse to blow. So the answer is yes it is possible. Look at the battery posts and cable ends to see if there are arc marks or melted lead.
I have no interest to engage in a debate of, if God exists or not. I am familiar with the experiments at Laurention University. Personally I don’t believe it holds much merit. You can induce every response in a human body. That does not mean that the experience is the same. The experience is only “similar “ to what “they believe: the experience should be. There is where their research is flawed. “Similar” does not equal “Same” And “what one believes” is “variable“. Is it based on experience (what are the benchmarks of that experience?), learned knowledge or assumption? Coming from a culture that has long and historically recognized spiritual connection. That connection has nothing to do with Shamanism or Mysticism like those outside the culture believe. Nor is that connection based on induced experiences. Nor does it reinforce the existence or exemplify communication with God. Not that I want to write a book but, there are many examples that occur with in our culture although seldom spoken of. One that is recognized and has a long history is related to death. There are times when people will know when a death will occur and sometimes they will also know who will be affected by that death. People outside the culture would say Oooooooo. But, this experience has be noted by many people of different generations, different geographical locations and pre-event, not after the fact. (it's a very common experience) That is a far cry from artificially inducing the “sense of a presence” achieved in the Laurention University experiments. ------------------------------- Edit There is a book called I heard the Owl call my name. The title acknowledges that premonition of approaching death. The author spent time with Native Americans on the West Coast. I mention it, just to exemplify that the experience is commonly known. .
