Question:

Baking cookies: What do i put them on?

I don't have a non-stick cookie sheet, just really old bakewareWould i be better off using aluminum foil, or greaseproof paper to bake the cookies on?

Answer:

Parchment paper works the bestGreaseproof (waxed) paper should noy be used for baking, unless it is completely cover with batter, as in lining cake pansThe exposed areas will get over heated and start smokingIf the cookie dough is made with butter or margarine you do not need to grease the panIf the recipe calls for a greased pan, use a cooking spray or solid vegetable shorteningEither way, allow the cookies to cool a minute or two, then remove from the panIf they sit much longer they may stick.
