Bedroom is 14' x 16'. How many sheets of plywood would it take to do the flooring? What is the best size for thickness of flooring? Thanks for your help.
8 sheets and I'm going to say 3/4 plywood, now a days called 23/32 but a lot depends on whats under the floor now? Sub Floor? Joists? What are your final intentions as far as finished flooring are? Carpet? tile? Is it a mobile home or pier and beam construction? feel free to email with any more questions but anyhow it will take 8 sheets and 3/4 is the way to go, and more than likely is what is there now!! Have a great Day! You could make 7 sheets work if the joist are oriented in the right direction to allow ripping the last sheet 2 ft wide longways .good luck
If you are ripping up the old flooring down to the support beams, you need to use 3/4 inch plywood (not MDF, not OSB) to replace it. Plywood comes in 4'x8' sheets, so you will need 7 sheets and a circular saw or table saw to cut them to size. I really recommend you get either a professional or a really handy friend to help you, too.
