Can one be big enough to where you could use just one for a whole floor of a skyscraper?
floor plates are used to access an area under the floor they very in size but they would not cover a whole floor
Floor plates are small sections of removable flooring. (Typically metal) The purpose of such a system is to create an area under the floor where pipes and or cables may be run and to provide easy access to . You could cover an entire room or level of a building floor with these. EDIT: TriState lists projects of 30,000 to over 1,000,000 square feet. ( Definitely building sized projects.) However these systems are not meant to replace a traditional flooring system. A traditional floor such as concrete is supporting this system underneath. The building design (ceiling height) must also account for the loss of head room by installing such a system.
