I am going to JoAnn Fabrics today to pick up knitting suppliesI have never knitted before in my life - but I have been wanting to do this for a long time, today is the day LOL.Aside from a book LOL, I know I should probably start out with bigger needles thicker yarn, but what else do I need to start out with? I want to get most of my supplies today so that I don't start a project only to realize I'm missing somethingAny help would be great!
High fibre foods include Beans and pulses apricots fruit with pipsJacket potatoes wholegrain bread, pasta, etcA rough rule of thumb is if it takes a lot of chewing it's high in fibreLiquid can be taken in any formIt doesn't have to be just water.
Grapes, berries, celery, oranges are a really good sourceDon't eat them with a meal though, they will slow down the digestion of your other food and create gas.
most vegetables have a good amount of fiber in them, and make sure you eat the skin on all your fruits and vegetables, that where most of the fiber is (except for things like oranges and bananas where you aren't supposed to eat the skinbut dont peel the skin off of things like apples and cucumbers) also, go lean crunch cereal by kashi is high in fiberand look for foods with high amounts of insoluble fiber, they are good for digestionalso, watermelon is like 80% water.
The items I suggest here reflect my personal preferences so I have included my reasons for including them in my shopping list Size US 6 or 8 (4mm or 5mm) metal needles – Metal needles are affordable and yarn slips off them easilyIn the patterns I started out with, these needle sizes are the ones most commonly used, so you won’t need to dash out and buy more! Double Knitting weight yarn in a cotton/wool/mixed fibre – this is a very versatile yarn that is easy to handle Scissors – any old type will do, but a small pair is the handiest A small crochet hook – for picking up those dropped stitches! Darning Needle – so you can sew your pieces of knitted fabric together Tape Measure – optional, but useful if you want to measure a tension square Happy knitting :)
Bran - brown foods - like brown rice, brown bread etcWhy not drink fruit juices or squashes, rather than eat watery fruit?
