Question:

Best way to insulate old home?

1959 house that has r-30 insulation up in atticHowever the walls and crawlspace are not insulated and the windows are old double hung windowsMy question is, what would be most significant in helping this home not feel like an ice house? What would you do first and why? Do windows first? Insulate the walls? Insulate the crawlspace? Weathering stripping and chalking are done but house is still icy.

Answer:

if you put them in saran wrap it delays the loss of stickynessyou should be fine.
I've eaten them weeks oldAs long as you wrap them in plastic they will last forever.
yummmy!! just leave them on the pan and put plastic wrap over them and put them in back in the oven to sit(that is, of course when the pan and the oven have both cooled down.
I've seen blown insulation installed in existing walls, saves a lot of $And just to use the plastic that you just tape over the windows does cut down the draftsClosely look at the windows, where ever the window glazing has dried and fallen off it creates a draft, replace that glazing it'll save more $ than it costs!
