Where can I purchase ceramics, as in piggy banks, vases, boxes, etc, in bulk. I am starting an at-home business selling hand painted items but I am having difficulty finding places to buy large quantities-at lower prices preferably. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!

The problem buried in the first two answers and your details is that your version of bulk and of hand painted are different from reality. You probably want to buy no more than 10 or 20 of each item in the size of items you mention. Even that would take up considerable storage space. But in the gift industry, bulk means a gross (144) or a container (a couple of tonnes) to supply a wholesaler selling to florist shops. You may need to contact such a wholesaler. And hand painted can mean using enamel paints on glazed ceramics or using glazes on partially fired ceramics (bisque) that then must be fired - a hobby that used to be much more popular years ago than it is now in the video age and which is discussed in the second answer. A real problem you face is that you are in competition with companies that are buying in true bulk and paying people very small amounts of money to decorate, while you will be buying at near retail and trying to earn a living wage. Unless your designs are nearly unique and you sell at premium prices to interior decorators, you are in trouble.
