Really, all you need is a check for rent/deposits, a pen to sign the rental agreement, and a key to the front door Minimialistically, all you need is a matress, bedding, toiletries, cleaning supplies, dishes/potspans, your clothes, hangers, and whatever food you plan to useIf a fridge is not in the unit, you will need a fridge From there, a couch, a TV, Internet, a bed frame with box spring, a coffee table, a chair or two, a dining room table, a dresser, a nightstand, lighting, etc.

Look at kitchen at homeAsk of Mom if she has any extra pots,pans, dishesOtherwise, go to Salvation Army/Goodwill and buy some basicsAfter you move in you will discover more things you need/wantYou need linens (towels, sheets, curtains)You need dishes and cutleryYou need pots and pans and knivesYou need some basic foodstuffs.
