Question:

calling all animal lovers!!?

i was woundering if you saw a drop of box for your local shelter at your local stores, would you donate? things like leashes, collers, dishes, blankets, exci 'm thinking of doing this, i'm just woundering if it would work?

Answer:

I decided to do that too instead of buying themSince you'll need at least 150, (you might want to get a few more so you and your hubby can eat them later that night or the next night while on your honeymoon) buying flats of strawberries will be the best thing to doThe price is really going to depend on where you live and whether the strawberries have to be shipped very far to your local supermarket, but I would think it would only be between $50 to $75 for that many and the chocolateYou can purchase colored cellophane to wrap them in and tie with ribbon matching your wedding colorsCongrats.
you'll need the strawberries at the grocery store, then you can get chocolate morsels in the baking aisle for this purpose and you can melt in a sauce pan or microwaveanother alternative to be fancy but not too expensive, bed bath beyond has candle lit fondue pots which will keep the chocolate melted for dipping by candlelight for only 20-25$.but if you want them cold just dip after microwaving/stovetop melting and place on wax paper baking sheet
This Site Might Help YouRE: how much does it cost to make chocolate covered strawberries? I am on a tight budget, but would like to make a good round of chocolate covered strawberrieswhat are the ingrediants i would need, and how much? thanks!
Strawberries around ?3 for 15 or so and chocolate (cooking choco) ?2.50 ?5.50 Strawberries and chocolate! Wash strawberries Heat chocolate in a bowl over boiling water ( Do NOT let any water get into the chocolate, will ruin it!) Soon as choc melted dip in the strawberries, Allow to cool and Eat!!!!! I would die for some now! (:

I use to work at the SPCA and any donation is great!!! Keep in mind that everything has to be washable and sterilized (we bleached everything, so brightly colored blankets often faded fast)Stuff like rawhide bones, dog toys, catnip toys and lots of blankets(nothing with fiber fill stuffing, puppies love to rip them up!!!) Are what they really needOur shelter used metal dishes, since the plastic ones often got chewed up fastLeather collars and leashes are not really washableIf you wanted to go with the box go for it, I would prefer dropping it off in person to see the reations of the emploees and maybe hand out treats to the animals! Thanks for thinking about the animals they really do need us!
