Question:

Camry 2001 Transmission?

Hi,I have toyota camry 2001 automatic 4 cylinders.it drives forward good but the reverse stopped working after I‘ve done the transmission service. The reverse was working before but there was a delay of 5-6 sconds, then stoped after I changed the transmission oil and filterany ideas ??Thanks

Answer:

Inside the transmission there is a band that engages the reverse. It is basically a big rubber band. These bands do wear out and brake. As the band wears out you will experience the delay because the band is slipping. Finally the band either gets too worn out to engage or it breaks entirely. Unfortunately, you will need to have a service shop fix this problem.
If her paid 4 g's to have the transmission replaced locate the paperwork and archives. The replaced transmission could have contain a guarantee consistent with mileage and that i'm particular your grandfather has no longer exceeded it. touch the save, and in a stunning tone clarify the difficulty and what they propose is the appropriate direction of action to have the unit replaced. no longer a huge deal and transmissions fail, some extra beneficial than others. I even have in no way had transmission problems.ever.
