i am a felon and i want to hunt what all can i hunt with legally
Not a muzzle loader in NJ. It is a firearm. Most states are the same.
This depends on what state your in as to what further restrictions they place on a felon over Federal law and how your state classify a firearm.
Most states do not allow a felon to have a firearm. You may be able to use a bow and arrow in your state. Ask the local game warden or your probation officer if you have one. In Ohio, bow season is longer because its harder to get a deer than with a gun. At least if you can do that, you can have several weekends out in the woods instead of one with gun season. Good luck
A bow, crossbow, nor muzzle loader are considered firearms. Legally, you should be able to hunt with any of them, but it may vary by state. If you want anyone to want to go hunting with you, go to court and get your rights restored, then use a rifle.
Felons cannot handle firearms. Ever. Anywhere. So, the question becomes, is a muzzle loader a firearm? And that, believe it or not, varies from state to state. Most states, and their respective hunting agencies, have pretty decent online presences. You can look up the laws, or at least find a phone number, pretty easily.
