We are a family of 7 and we have always used Whirlpool washing machines and dryers. My parents always had Whirlpool washer/dryer and they would last for many many years. I have had my current set for approximately 4 years now. I do laundry twice a week, which is normally about 6 loads a week. I use the top loader because I like the agitator in the middle. I feel like it cleans my clothes better. And there may not be a difference with or without an agitator but that is my personal preference.
I bought one of those expensive, newfangled, energy efficient (water stingy) Whirlpool sets. It was a nightmare. Moldy smelling , lint covered streaked up, wrinkled up clothes that you couldn't hang dry because it took the dryer to get all the lint off. Luckily, Lowes took them back. I did some research before I picked new ones. I got a G.E. Profile top load washer and dryer set.It was hundreds of dollars cheaper and it has almost as much load capacity as the other ones but it has an agitator and uses plenty of water. As someone stated about their washer without an agitator holding a king size comforter, mine does also. What I learned is, that it takes WATER to get your clothes clean! What you save on water on the others, you spend on higher priced high efficiency detergents anyway. I also learned that I like agitators. If you are considering getting a front loader or any of those water miser types, I suggest you put moldy smell in front load washers into your search engine. I love my washer and dryer. I'm eternally grateful to Lowes for bailing me out of this one. I can't imagine having to keep that set. I think I would have sold it in a yard sale. If it ever gets to where those HE sets are all you can buy, I'll have mine repaired till the day I die. Pick wisely. It's a pretty long term decision.
I bought the GE Harmony set last year, and it works great - doesn't have an agitator in the middle, so it can hold a king size comforter. Very energy efficient. My water bill and electric bill have went down since I got it. This set is also a top loader. I wouldn't recommend front loaders, because the seal will leak after time, and water will start to run down the front.
I would suggest a front load machine. the spin rate on them is almost 3 times as fast as a top load, and therefore your clothes come out dryer. Even for a load of towels I only run my dryer for 25 minutes now. (even shorter for a regular load). They also use less water than a top load (about 1/3)
i exchange into such as you till presently, could no longer go with between actual or front loader. i ended up getting a front loader have not regarded decrease back. that's a attractiveness! Washes extremely nicely would not use lots water. that's a 7kg, lots sufficiently enormous yet i could have favourite a speedier spin velocity than 800rpm I do advise getting a gadget that measures the quantity of water required for the burden. i'm going to on no account pass decrease back to a real loader. all the suitable!!!
