Question:

Can a teen do without a mobile phone?

I'm 18 and male. Believe me I don't have a mobile phone. My fifteen and ten year old brothers both have one. All my friends have one.

Answer:

Well the pioneer teenagers went without a cell phone so of course it is possible to not have a cell phone. But a cell phone is now the new big thing these days. Everyone has one. A cell phone is good for calling 911 when no other phones are around and you're in trouble. If you get unlimited web, then it's a great pocket computer. It's a nice way to get a hold of your family members easier without having to be at home to talk to them. It's fun to play games on them too. Infact, I'm using my cell phone to type my advice and opinions to you as you read. It's a nice little way to stay in touch with friends and family. Although, cell phones have their doughts. (Such as talking and driving, texting and driving, etc.) But if you honestly don't have a cell phone, then I would recommend you get one.(: They're not that bad. And not that expensive if you keep a watch of your budget. ATT, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc. Are nice cell phone companies to start out with if you live in America. You don't even have to buy a cell phone for the web and games. You can just have one to make calls and text. Go to a cell phone company and they'll walk you through what you want to have unlimited and limited minutes on. They'll also explain what kind of brand and model the phone is that you want to buy. That's what the employees are there for. Hope I helped !(:
Theres is a lot of communication and internet to keep in touch with friends and family. Well, I use my phone to talk with friends and professors but I don't use it to have fun. I use my phone every 6 hours without text.
I've done without one for 2 weeks now because the screen broke and its weird how much I relied on it. From waking me up in the morning to texting friends to arrange things. I'm so used to being able to pull up at the cinema or outside their house and then texting them so that I don't have to turn the engine off and go inside, or even text them 5 minutes before I arrive so they are ready. Its a convinence, not a necessity - but its pretty damn necessary
I know a lot of friends without one, and they are just fine, also. As long as you communicate regularly with people (so you don't lack communication skills), you are fine :) I think you are probably better off without one, because now-a-days, texting DOES make you lose communication skills take it from one who texts a LOT.
Yes and No. For one, everyone should have some way of communication just for safety reasons. I'm 19 and female, when I go to a party or anywhere by myself it's reassuring to have one. On the other hand, cell phones are sometimes simply a distraction. When my phone is dead or lost, I get things done and am more at peace.
