Question:

Chrome or Ceramic Plated Curling Iron?

What‘s the difference?

Answer:

Ceramic is more gentle and a new improvement, chrome is hotter for your hair causes much damage like slip ends, dry hair.
Well, from personal knowledge, chrome is metal. Metal gets hotter, but it fries your hair. It's also usually seen in the cheaper brand curling irons. Ceramic is believed to be gentler to the hair. They also heat up very quickly, but they are more expensive. I'd go for this brand and shell out a couple extra dollars. Either way, if you curl your hair frequently, go for a protection spray. Protect your hair. Hope this helped!
go for ceramic. It emits negative ions which force your cuticle to close, making your hair hold moisture better, and be softer, shinyer and less frizzy. Tourmaline is the best, its a mineral *usually gold or red in color* and is ground up into fine powder and is used in the ceramic plates/coatings. Im an apprentice hairstylist and would NEVER use a metal curling iron or flat iron on my hair or on anyone else. they both heat up to the same temperature *ceramics can get hotter, as there is less risk for frying your hair* and I feel ceramics heat up faster then the old school metal ones. if you do go for the metal one, be sure to get wicked hair products, especially moisturizers and thermal pretectants if you plan on using it often. metal can also snag on your hair and leave it in tangles. Im REALLY against heated metal styling tools.
