Question:

Can an ad-hoc network be setup without using Ethernet cable?

I'm trying to setup a home networkDon't have a router and wish to use a desktop that is running windows XP as the host machineThe other 2 machines are laptops, one running win XP and the other Win 7Thank you.

Answer:

Get a wireless routerTo run ad-hoc and connect to the internet at the same time requires two adapters on the host machineYou cannot run ad-hoc and Client mode (connects to wireless internet service) one one adapter at the same timeIt's either-orIf you do get two wireless adapters (best to do this one wired, one wireless), you could bridge the two, and run ad-hoc to another machineAdding a third starts to complicate things.
That's all handled by UPSWhat can Brown do for you?
one big freakin' strork! actually they drug it, net it, beat it into submission, dehydrate it, transport it, and then toss it in a new tank.
