Can anyone explain how a military tank or bulldozer can turn when it only has two belts instead of 4 wheels?

Answer:

The treads have brake systems to slow one tread at a time. For a sharp turn you brake more than a slight turn. When both are going the same speed you go straight. Each tread has a brake lever. Slow the right you will turn right. Lock up one side you make a U turn. Takes practice to get the movements right or something goes crunch
The same way a civilian bulldozer turns with only 2 tracks!
What happens is the speed of one belt is adjusted to either make it go slower or faster, depending on what side you wish to turn to. To do it without moving the physical location, both belts must go at the same speed in opposite directions
One belt spins faster than the other. Rotates about the center axis. Presto-chango, we've got ourselves a turning tank (or bulldozer)!
One can spin, the other can remain stationary. Or, one could spin forward, and the other can spin in reverse. This method allows them to turn on a dime as they can turn and not move either forward or backward, simply around.
