Quartz watches are more relaible and less costly to repair, however they do not have the cool factor of an automatic watch. Most watch enthusiasts are into the type of movement in the watch as well as the complexity of the mechanics. If you're not into that, go for a quartz watch that will just need battery changes every few years. Good luck!
