I bought a Data Shark kit that came with compression connectors, the compression tool and a wire stripper but I cant seem to make it work. The directions say you have to push the connector on until the dielectrode is flush with the connector end before using the compression tool. This is impossible to do I was pushing twisting rocking back and fourth still wont go all the way on. BTW I am using Quad cable. Please Help!
Are the connectors you bought made for quad shield cable? It is a bit thicker than regular RG-6 and that may be why the connectors won't go on. RG-6 QS uses special connectors. If the connectors are for RG-6 QS then maybe you need to strip back some more of the outer jacket. It is hard to say without seeing what you are doing though. It really should be quick and easy once you get the hang of it. Cable guys put connectors on in less than a minute.
