Can fiber make you gain weight?

I am on a high fiber dietI am 16 and 5ft 5in and weigh about 185lbs (fat i know)I do about 30-45min of exercise a day (since December)I probably eat well over 35g of fiber a day because i heard it would help me loose weight, but in fact i have started to gain a few poundsI really want to get healthy and loose weight but i dont know what im doing wrongHELP!
