Question:

can gm dealer rebuild transmission or can they only replace?

I have a 2007 Cobalt SS Supercharged its a 4 cylinder manual 5 speed transmission.

Answer:

They could, although the labor charge on rebuilding would probably exceed the cost of a replacement. I'd suggest finding a transmission shop(aamco, etc.), they would probably be significantly less expensive than a dealership. They'll probably sell you a rebuilt one, but they may rebuild on site. If your transmission failed due to extra HP or abuse, you may want to find a performance transmission shop who can hook you up with High performance parts.
depends on how your body is built. but trust me, if you get shot with most of the bullets that the terrorists are using, it really won't matter what you are wearingsorry to tell ya. but they do not follow the Geneva conventions, like we do. they use armor piercing bullets and other outlawed ammunition, that we are not allowed to use. damn bleeding heart liberals!!!
I dont know, but I will take six!
Most dealers don't do rebuilds on site. Many chain operated transmission shops don't either. Most just buy rebuilt units from large rebuilders. If you tore yours up on a 2007, you definitely need a performance rebuilt unit OR a few speeding tickets to slow you down.
DO NOT USE AAMCO to rebuild a transmission their products and services are JUNK! Sure the dealership can rebuild it, but with labor costs it will be more than getting a rebuilt or new one, so most dealers only replace them. And for some reason no one will want to rebuild a manual transmission, even-though they are much simpler than an automatic to work on. If it were mine and I had the space to do it I would buy the bearings, seal kit, and synchronizers and I would rebuild it, I have rebuilt them before it not all that hard. FYI: If you were abusing it and lunched some synchros or gears, or damaged the main shaft of the transmission it would be better to just get another transmission, and not rebuild yours. Send yours to the scrap heap in that case.
