Answer:

You need a vga to aux in (red, white, yellow) cable
No, unless your flatscreen has S-video or component or composite video inputs. Computer monitors are a grade below TV flat screens in terms of brains. No tuner, no TV image. No DVD player image. You can play a DVD in your computer drive and show it on the LCD monitor.
This is possible. Method A 1. Your monitor should have a DVI input port (Viewsonic 19wb has it) 2. Your dvd should have a DVI output port (in India some DVDs have it) if both the above is available then you can see the movie on the monitor. But you will have to attach the audio out of your DVD to your stereo system. Method B If you have an ordinary conventional monitor (CRT) this is possible. You will have to buy an external TV Tuner card and connect the RF out of your DVD to the RF in of your Tuner card and then the monitor to the VGA port of the Tuner card. You can see the video. But here too you will have to connect the Audio out of your DVD to your stereo system.
IF your DVD player has the same type of output as the input of the monitor you should be able to connect them. You may look for an RCA out, thats the red, white and yellow cables. Or perhaps an HDMI or SVideo connection.
