Question:

Can I bake an already fired and glazed ceramic vase?

I have an unfinished ceramics project that broke after a bisque fire (I had to glaze and fire it since it was a class project and needed a grade). I would like to repair/finish it with polymer clay(that‘s all I‘ve got at home). Is there anyway to bake the polymer clay right onto the project? If not, any suggestions on how to repair it?Thanks!

Answer:

Simple answer - yes, baking at temperature called for in polymer clay directions - usually 275F. Now read the long detailed coverage of your possible problems.
