Really want to get a captains bed for our 2 1/2 year old boy. Twin size. And a captains bed is the kinds that have drawers under the bed. Is it safe to have him in a bed w/o rails he's in a toddler bed right now. He's tall so I would make sure to get one that he can get in and out of with ease
Sure! There's no problem with that. You might want to give him a step-stool thingie to help him get in and out if you're worried about the height. But since he's tall, probably isn't an issue. 2.5 is def old enough.
Go for it, however I would get a guard rail to put up until you can be sure he won't roll out of bed and fall on the floor and get hurt since I know those bed's tend to be a bit high. Also get a stool that was it is easy for him to get in. My cousin has a bed like that and he has a stool to get in and out. Not sure if he had a guard rail since he got it when he was 4.
Sure, it's fine to have him in a twin bed. If he tends to fall out of bed, you could put a rail on one side and push it against the wall. We never had a toddler bed for my kids, and they were out of the crib anywhere from 18-22 months. They moved straight into a twin or full-size bed.
