I fired a bisque firing in an electric kiln with a kiln sitter. I set it up yesterday morning to candle on low all day, then turned it up to medium and then high last night. I set my alarm for midnight to check it, but slept through the alarm. Some time between me starting the kiln in the morning and before it would have shut off on its own a spider spun a nest between the outside of the kiln wall and the off lever preventing it from falling when the cone melted at 04. I woke up at 6 and went out to check the kiln only to find it going full blast. I pulled the lever down and found a small spider and a bunch of webbing that had held it stuck in the on position. Tonight I was able to crack the kiln and there is nothing but melted clay all over the top shelf. Is there any way to salvage them? Or did this freak accident just cost me all my kiln shelves? Hopefully the bottom of the kiln isn't covered in clay too.
u can find one in the underground mall on one of the floors in there.its in a costume shop.
sounds to me like a stuck thermostat. If it takes way longer for heat to come into the car than it used to that is a sure sign. What happens with a normal thermostat is shuts closed one the coolant lever falls below a certain degree. Once you start the car and with the thermostat closed it circulates engine coolant around the block until it heats up once the temp hits a predetermined mark the thermal expansion the spring inside of the thermostat will open it up and flow begins to the radiator. If it get stuck open it will take 3 to 5 times the time for heat to come into your car. thermostats are dirt cheap and are usually attached to an engine block and a hose going to the radiator is attached to it.
