Question:

Can I sue my building to pay for my dogs vet bill if the dog's tail got caught in the ELEVATOR door?

Elevators normally have sensors to open if they close on something but it didn't happen this time as people piled into the elevator, as well there is no emergency button that will automatically open the doors, can this be considered as negligence on the building?

Answer:

The sensors only will work if the object is with in the range of the eye on itSo if the dogs tail was not in the vision of the eye of the sensor the they are not liableBesides living in a rented apartment or house if a animal gets hurt because of owners negligence it is on the ownerYou should have made sure your dog was entering or exiting the elevator in a timely fashion.
