Seattle and San Diego are very different. Rather than finding a place that feels like home why not find a place that feels like San Diego? Where in San Diego depends on your budget. If you want quiet look for one of the many suburbs north of the I-8 and East of the I-5. For an area that has more going on, you'd be looking at Pacific Beach or Downtown. If you can afford it, La Jolla has a nice mix of both quiet areas and stuff to see and do. The only drawback is that it's expensive and if you have to commute to work it's hard to get out of La Jolla in the morning.

Most warehouses will pay you $1 per pallet since they usually wind up having to buy more anyways.
