Answer:

I seen it during all the rain delay coverage on Speed. It's a nice looking car.
You have a 13 year old car as you know. When was the last time the poor car has had new shocks.
I had a Ford Explorer with this issue. Turns out there was a worn out ball joint causing the ruckus. I went ahead and did both sides and that cured it. It sounded like the wheel was loose and falling off. Every little bump in the road, BAM! BAM! The front wheels are attached to a mechanism that uses an upper and lower ball joint to allow the wheel assembly to move. Its not something that you can do in your backyard. Its a real pain in the butt. I suggest using a mechanic because they have a lift and the tools needed to press out the joints. Any auto shop should be able to do it in about 2 hours per side depending on the make and model. Most of todays vehicles require an expensive press tool to remove and install them. Mechanics in NC charge 70.00 an hour so you'd be looking at about 280.00 plus the parts being around 100 to 150. Also the wheels must be re aligned as well. Thats about 75 dollars. Good Luck and shop around, mechanics prices vary.
