Question:

can irrigation plastic tubing be used for electrical conduit in concret or cement new home construccion?

instead of using ridgid conduit can polytubing or irrigation vinil pipe be used as an option or cable can just run bare on concret on a house been build up of concret wall in and out ?

Answer:

it would do the same job but...2 problems. 1: the inspector is going to fail it!!!!!!!! 2 the plastic conduit for electrical, and the tube for irrigation are two different kinds of plastic. you wont be able to glue any additional electrical fittings to the irrigation pipe. do not put the cable in the concrete itself!!!!!!!! if you ever have to replace it you will be screwed. plus dont forget uncured concrete is very caustic. the lye in it can cause copper in the wire to fail prematurely.
You should use sched 40 pvc conduit. It does not have to be buried very deep inside of a buliding, but I would suggest scatching it down a few inches below the concrete pour just in case you ever have sawcut the floor. DO NOT USE IRRIGATION PIPE. Never use 1/2 conduit underground. Use 3/4 or larger.
In my years of experience, and inspector will fail that in a heartbeat. The Irrigation tubing is not made to run wires through, and the wire could get caught on the tubing , and the wire could dig into the tubing as it is soft and pliable. Also, when you pour your concrete on top of the tubing, the tubing will flatten with the weight of the concrete, causing you to have to remove the concrete to make any repairs to the wire. Defeating the purpose of using conduit in the first place. Use the gray PVC non-metallic conduit, the fittings and the pipe are designed to have wires run through them, and the conduit will not crush under the weight of the concrete poured over it. If you are going to do the job, do it right, and you will save money in the long run.
No! You must use the grey PVC type of pipe, not the schedule 40, which is used for irrigation. This is what the code states. Good Luck with your project.
Depends where you are, if in central europe, plastic conduit is often used when wiring houses under concrete but it doesn't offer any mechanical protection against a drill bit. If in UK, spec would say that if not a SWA, you will need to run copex, monical each end and connect the earth to it. As soon as the drill bit hits a neutral or live inside the cable after going through the copex, RCD kicks in.
