Can put a dual exhaust system in my V6 02 Dodge Ram?
Any muffler shop can equip your truck with a dual exhaust system and yes, it will probably run better. The problem is, especially if you live in a strict smog state like California or New Jersey, you will have a hard time getting the vehicle to pass inspection. For a true dual you'll need 2 catalytic converters, possibly two air pumps and of course 2 mufflers. For better midrange, you'll want them to install an H pipe between the left and right sides. And you'll want to install large diameter tubing - at least 2 stainless. This whole setup will not be cheap. I would stick with the single exhaust, but upgrade the cat to a high performance model, sold at most speed shops. These run about $100. You can also install a low-restriction muffler, such as a Flowmaster which will sound nice and cut back pressure a lot. Your truck's ECU should be able to handle the change in backpressure and adjust the air/fuel mixture fine preventing a lean condition. If legal, you can route the exhaust out the side in front of the rear tire for an even cooler look, like NASCAR trucks. Good luck.
with a v6 i ought to in hassle-free words run a unmarried 40 4 muffler, flowmaster makes a 40 4 with a unmarried enter, and with 2 shops. i wouldnt decrease off your mufflers like different everybody is declaring, sounds inexpensive and receives the law enforcement officials to write down ya tickets
some are gels kinda like jello.
you can also check into Hydroponics systems on the Internet and research it to see if this method will suite you.
No offense, but thats like asking if its ok to put racing stripes and NOS on a 79 Mustang 4 banger, 4 speed, stick shift. (Trust me, they exist) You do not need a dual exhaust sytem on that. If its all about looks for you, forget it, or buy a truck that comes stock dual exhaust, but your gonna lose that better fuel economy you have with your truck.
