Im looking to put a new exhaust on my 08 mustang, I am looking to do new headers, 2 cats and 2 mufflers, what can the expected hp gain be of doing the exhaust this way and what size pipes should I be looking at so the engine gets sufficiant back pressure. I have the 4.0l V6, like I said complete new exhaust system from the headers back, probably going to use the original cat and add on an oem replacment due to cost issues.
You won't gain much from a 6-banger, but I wouldn't go over 2 pipe. You'll want to have the computer flashed afterwards, too.
Your 1991 motor vehicle makes use of Freon (R-12) as a refrigerant. Freon is against the regulation in many aspects now and extra cutting-edge automobiles use Tetrafluoroethane (R-134A), or TFE for short. systems designed for Freon can not take care of TFE because it wears out the seals, etc. Your mechanics are probable advising you which you will desire to enhance particular aspects with a view to cost it with TFE. fee seems much less high priced nonetheless, so according to danger i'm incorrect. in simple terms my maximum suitable wager what they propose. Cheers!
It could be. It's not going to get better on its own. Those parts need to be replaced.
Headers provide you extra overall performance and a much extra proper sound than you're already getting. i'd recommend which you save the money to get the headers first and do the real duals later. including duals without changing over to headers won't provide you plenty benefit. that is going to easily provide you yet another pipe popping out of the back.
Don't waste your money on headers or cats. Unless your pushing high hp these flow really well. I would say just get a good set of mufflers (whatever sound you like) and take it to an exhaust shop and tell them you want dual exhaust. Its the cheapest way and you'll get a bit of extra hp and sound better. After all said and done should be about $400-$600 depending on mufflers.
